Reinforcement: the cost options
This is the fourth article by GHA Livigunn's Stewart Tennant published in Construction News, 6 August 2009.
"Material savings can be made in the quantity of reinforcement for the design of normally reinforced concrete structures. But if the reinforcement is scheduled and detailed so carefully that it is curtailed at every opportunity, there is a danager that you will end up with arrangements that aree light in terms of quantity but slow to assemble on site."
