10th GHA Livigunn Challenge
Plans are now underway for the 10th GHA Livigunn Challenge, which is to be held in a secret location in the beautiful region of North Wales. The weekend involves a schedule of outdoor activities, testing competititors both physically and mentally, over the weekend of 15th-17th June 2012.
The GHA Livigunn Challenge is an outdoor challenge event held every 2 years in aid of charity, which invites teams of construction “professionals” to compete against each other over a series of scored stages.
The 2010 GHA Livigunn Challenge raised over £23,000 for WaterAid, and GHA Livigunn hope to exceed this year’s target of £20,000. The 2012 event will again be supporting WaterAid and also a number of local charities that each office has chosen including; Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Halton Haven Hospice and Francis House Children’s Hospice.

Stewart Tennant, Divisional Director of GHA Livigunn commented, “The GHA Livigunn Challenge has become a fixture in the calendars of many of our clients and staff. Planning for the 2012 Challenge is now well underway and we intend to make it even bigger and better than previous events, both in terms of the number of teams and variety of activities. Most importantly we want to raise as much money as possible for our chosen charities. Details of the 2012 event will be sent out over the coming months allowing plenty of time for all those wishing to take part to start training.”
The details of the challenge at this stage are top secret but will involve physical and mental challenges, on land and water. The overall winners will collect the coveted GHA Livigunn Challenge Trophy.
Each team will consist of 4 competitors who will take part in the challenges, as well as a team manager. Competitors will require a good level of fitness, the ability to work as a team and a certain amount of navigation skills. The event winning team with the most points will collect the coveted GHA Livigunn Challenge trophy. However the aim of the event is for all taking part to enjoy themselves whilst raising money for a number of very worthwhile causes.
GHA Livigunn will cover the cost of the event and competitors are required to raise a minimum sponsorship of £1000 per team to help achieve maximum fundraising and reach the £20,000 target. This year GHA Livigunn will also be offering a number of event sponsorship packages, with all funds going to our chosen charities
The GHA Livigunn Challenge has become extremely popular, the 2010 event was oversubscribed with a number of teams on the waiting list. This year a number of places have already been reserved, so teams are urged to not delay in reserving their place.
