HAZOP TEAM LEADER

The Hazard and Operability Study, or Hazop, is one of the most widely used health & safety review techniques in industry today. Hazop is a very structured review which, in principal, can be applied to a diverse range of operations in the process industries. It is easy to learn and does not require any special academic qualifications to participate. It does however need to be done properly in order to get the most benefit from the exercise.

In fact, the ‘classic’ Hazop review is really only one stage of an 8 stage process; running from project inception, not just through design, construction and commissioning, but also throughout the operating life of the plant to account for ongoing modifications and changes in legislation.

GHA Livigunn can provide a full service to facilitate Hazop reviews at all stages of a project. In instances where we are working on the project we would ensure that the review chair was independent from the project team.

Our Hazop Team Leaders have a broad project experience and are fully trained in the technique. They will ensure that the review is thorough, reported in full and considers both hazards AND operability (which is a common failing of these reviews).

Our Hazop systems and software will structure the review itself and provide agenda, minutes and distributed actions, allowing efficient close-out of actions raised.
