Chartered Electrical Engineer
Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology
Education:
BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Experience:
15+ years experience working in the water industry, (engineering and operations).
- Electrical, Control and Instrument Engineering Design
HV (up to 33kV) power distribution systems including transformers, Oil, Vacuum & SF6 switchgear, protection systems and site ring main cabling.
LV switchgear, switchboards, Motor Control Centres (MCC), 12 & 6 Pulse Inverter drives, Harmonic/PFC equipment and emergency power generation equipment
LV field systems from switchboards and MCCs, to include cable selection, routing and final termination at equipment location
Instrumentation and analytical systems to include flow, level, Pressure, density, temperature, pH, Iron, Turbidity, Organic Carbon/Colour etc.
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to include Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Festo systems, running on site wide data communications, such as Ethernet, DH+, Control Net & Profibus
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Telemetry systems
Knowledge of B.S. 7671 1992 IEE Wiring Regulations (Including Part P of Building Regulations)
Telecommunication (fibre optic) Points of Presence and Cross Connect installation systems to include main and temporary power supplies, climate control, lighting, small power, intruder and fire suppression systems
Plant building services design and maintenance to include lighting, small power, intruder and fire detection/alarm systems, telephone networks, CCTV and automated entrance and exit gate/barrier systems.

HAZOP Chairman for conceptual and detailed project studies
Plant area PEAZ studies for equipment suitability
Confined space risk assessment and operation authorised
