July 2009: Environmental Project Award from the Construction News Quality Awards 2009
GHA Livigunn were delighted to support United Utilities’ Integrated Alliance (ia+), winners of the Environmental Project Award for the Hodder Service Reservoir at the recent Construction News Quality Awards 2009 (CNQ) held in London. The £13 million new service reservoir, to supply treated water to Blackburn, the Ribble Valley, Preston and Fylde, provided some challenging environmental design issues for GHA Livigunn, who were appointed by ia+ as lead design consultants for the project.
The judges picked out Hodder Service Reservoir for the environmental award for “An excellent example of a coherent and integrated project team working through planning, design, construction and operation to deliver environmental excellence.”
June 2009: Commendation from ACE Engineering Excellence Awards 2009
GHA Livigunn walked away with a Commendation in the small firm’s infrastructure category at the 2009 ACE Engineering Excellence Awards for detailed civil and structural design on the Ashton-under-Lyne Wastewater Treatment Works. The judge commented: “The commendation in this category goes to a project which the judges said was a genuine feat of engineering which had to shoehorn a great deal into a complex site within a very small footprint”.
May 2009: The Silver Award, RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards
Mark Ingram, GHA Livigunn’s Managing Director, commented: “This is the first time the company has entered the RoSPA Awards and we were delighted to be given the Silver Award for Occupational Health and Safety. Our commitment to the health and safety of our employees and visitors is paramount and we will continue to develop our management systems in Health, Safety and Environment to complement our external Quality certification.”
